Sofia Spirou's work
has developed broadly across the fields of environment, economics
and sustainability focusing both on policy analysis and
communications.
She begun her
professional training in 1999 as an associate of the Center for
Science and Environment, a N.Delhi based NGO relaying environment
and development research analysis to policy makers, participants to
international negotiations and academics.
After a stint in
humanitarian aid she returned to work for the environment
undertaking a series of consultancies for regional and international
organisations and NGOs including UNEP and the International Center
for Trade and Sustainable Development.
Before joining MedWet
she worked as fundraising and communications officer for BirdLife
Greece.
She holds a Masters
degree in History of International Relations from the London School
of Economics and a Bachelors in Economics from the same School.
She is fluent in
English, French and Greek.
