On 20 June 2005, the official opening of the Youth Working Camp Stenje-Oteshevo-Sirhan took place in Oteshevo. The Prime Minister of the FYR of Macedonia, Mr. Vlado Buckovski, the Mayor of Resen, Mr. Dimitar Buzlevski, and the Minister for Environment and Physical Planning, Mr. Zoran Sapuric, all made welcome speeches on the opening celebration. The event was also attended by the Head of the Liqenas Commune, Albania, Mr. Pandi Andoni, the Deputy Mayor of Prespa, Greece, Mr. Vasilis Tsepas as well as NGO representatives from the three countries. The Youth Working Camp activities focused on cleaning the beach along the villages of Stenje, Oteshevo and Sirhan, extending around 5km around Macro Prespa Lake.

The duration of the camp was two weeks, during which more than 100 young people, with different ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds, worked together for cleaning up the area, but also attended workshops on the significance of the Prespa region and its sustainable development. Apart from developing youth ecological practices and promoting activism at the local level, the realization of the Youth Camp contributed in strengthening cooperation and communication between young people, as well as cooperation between local citizens, NGOs, Local Self-Government and Central Government. The Youth Working Camp was organised by the Local Self-Government of Resen, the Municipality of Resen and NGOs from the region, with financial support from the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the FYR of Macedonia.
