A round table of the local journalists of the Prespa Park region was organized in Korcha on the occasion of the World Wetlands Day 2004. Representatives of the Albanian local press, TV and radio media were present, however the very bad weather conditions prevented journalists of the two neighbouring countries from attending the meeting. Ms. Aferdita Ponari, Prespa Park Communication Officer, made a short presentation about the Prespa Park initiative and Ms Monica Shano, GTZ expert, journalist, talked about the contribution of mass media in environmental conservation. Following the above, Dr. Spase Shumka, Prespa Park Secretariat member, elaborated on the joint projects undertaken in the region, making special reference to the launching of the PDF B project in the three countries. The roundtable, which constituted the first such event in the region, was warmly welcomed by all participants, who committed themselves in supporting the transboundary collaboration and promoting the Prespa Park activities through the media.
