31/5/– 01/6/2004: Sixth Regular Meeting of the Prespa Park Coordination Committee (PPCC) in Korcha, Albania.

On 31 May – 1 June 2004, the 6^th Regular meeting of the Prespa Park Coordination Committee, was held in Korcha, Albania. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Environment of Albania, and was funded by the GEF-UNDP.

Apart from representatives of donor organizations with an interest in Prespa region (i.e. UNDP, German Bank for Reconstruction and Development KfW, GTZ), present at the meeting were also the Deputy Minister of Environment of Albania, Mrs. Canaj and the Head of the Korcha District Council, Mr. Xhemo.

The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the PDF B project implementation. Following presentations of the UNDP, KfW representatives, as well as of the International Project Manager, Mr. Keith Shawe and the PDF B project national teams, the opening ceremony for the PDF B office in Korcha took place.

Moreover, during the first day, the PPCC members endorsed the final version of the Strategic Action plan for the sustainable development of the Prespa Park, which from now onwards constitutes the formal, overriding document for any future activity in the Prespa Park region.

During the second day of the meeting internal PPCC issues were discussed, such as the implementation of the 2003 workplan and the operational plan and programme of activities for 2004.
